  • Worship in a shrine
    　神社参拝
    First of all, bow once at the Torii gate and enter the shrine site.
    　まず、鳥居の前で一回お辞儀をしてから、神社の境内に入ります。
    At the purification area, purify yourself in 5 steps.
    　手水洗い場で次の５つの手順で身体を清めます。
    (1) Wash your left hand with water.
    　水で左手を洗います。
    (2) Wash your right hand with water.
    　水で右手を洗います。
    (3) Wash your mouth with your left hand.
    　左手に水をくみ、口をすすぎます。
    (4) Wash your left hand again.
    　もう一度左手を洗います。
    (5) Wash the handle.
    　柄杓を洗います。

     

     

     Next, go in front of the worship hall.  Pray in 5 steps.
    　次に、本殿の前に進み、次の５つの手順でお参りをします。
    (1) Throw a coin in the offertory box.
    　賽銭箱にお金を投げ入れます。
    (2) Ring the bell to let the gods know you are there.
    　あなたがそこにいることを神様に知らせるため鈴を鳴らします。
    (3) Bow twice.
    　二回お辞儀をします。
    (4) Clap twice.
    　二回拍手をします。
    (5) Bow once.
    　一回お辞儀をします。
